All members
of On Line Epsilon must be a member in good standing
with Beta
Sigma Phi International at ALL times.
(Status will
be verified yearly through International)
Anniversary
The official
anniversay date of Online Epsilon is July 1st,1998.
Executive
Board
The Executive
Board shall consist of:
President,
Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, List Moderator and Immediate Past
president.
These officers
shall be elected by membership vote.
Nominations and Elections
The Immediate
Past President (IPP) shall call for nominations by Mar 31.
She shall
prepare and email the ballot by April 10th and advise all members that
the election is by secret ballot.
She shall
tally the ballots and announce the results by Apr 30th.
The new Executive
Board shall assume their duties no later that June 1st of each year.
Standing Committees
The President
shall appoint the following Committee Chairpersons:
,Awards,
Conversation, Program, Sunshine and Yearbook.
A co-chair
may be selected by the Chairperson or appointed by the President.
There shall
NOT be a Ways & Means Committee.
Cyber Council
OnLine Epsilon
will participate in Beta Sigma Phi's Cyber Council by having two(2) respresentatives.
The President
and the Immediate Past President shall be the two representatives.
Membership Fee
All new members
shall pay a one-time Membership fee of $15.00 by U.S. money order or check
upon applying
for membership to OLE
The fee will
cover one year of membership, including dues for that year and the officalpin.
Upon receipt
of payment, the Tresurer shall send the Pin and the new member
will be added
to the membership lis by the Vice-President.
If a member
joins in the summer, her fee covers the next year.
If she joins
in September thry May her dues come due the following September.
Dues
An annual
fee of $12.50 in the form of a U.S. money order or check will be charged..
Notice of
Dues will be sent out by the Treasurer on September 1st of each year.
Dues will
become delinquent on October 1st.
Any member
whos dues are not in the hands of the Treaurer by October 1st will be removed
from the membership,
placed on
the bottom of the waiting list.
If the member
who was removed wishes to become active again in the chapter,
she may do
so when a vacancy becomes available by paying the dues and she will be
reinstated.
Bounced Checks
Any person
who bounces a check will be responsible for all charges incurred by OLE.
The full
amount of the check plus incurred bank charges must be remitted to the
Treasurer with two weeks of notification.
Payment willonly
be accepted in the form of a money order or Certified Check in US funds.
Mebership
for applicant will commence on the date of full successfull remittance
of the dues and surcharges.
An applicant
who fails to do this will mot be granted membership.
A member
who fail to do this shall be removed from the membership.
Theme
The Offical
chapter theme of OnLine Epsilon is , "Shimmering Lights From Sea to
Sea".
The chapter
President may select a personal motto of she chooses.
Membership
Membership shall be capped at 65 members with a waiting list.
Meetings
There shall
not be regularly shceduled meetings of the chapter.
Special meeting
may be called by the President and all business conducted by email.
Roll Call
In order to
be excused from a roll call, any member who knows that she will be unable
to accessa a computer during the time the poll
will be posted(i.e
travel,etc) must request an excused absence by notifying both the Secretary
and the List moderator in advance.
If a member
does not sign in to the poll for two attendance polls in a row and does
not have an excused abence,
she will
be placed on inactive status and will be notified by the secretary via
private e-mail.
She will
be given two weeks to respond to the private e-mail in order to appeal.
If there
is no response, her position in the chapter will be made available to the
next name on the waiting list for OLE.
Chapter dues
will not be refunded.
Should a
member wish to be reinstated to the OLE list she may apply to the Board.
If her position
has already been filled, she will be placed on the waiting list.
When a position
becomes available, if she still wishe to be reinstated,
she will
NOT be re-charged a membership fee, but she will be responsible for annual
dues if they are currently due by her at that time.
Advertising,Chain letters,Politics,Religion and Jokes
Advertising
for personal gain, religious solicitations,political"soap-boxing",m chain
letters,
off-color
jokes or foul language will NOT be permitted

ByLaws Review
The Executive
Board shall review the chapter Bylaws and Standing Rules during the summer
following their election.
They shall
present their recommendations to the membership no later than September
1st of each yar for approval.
Voting on
Bylaw revisions/acceptance shall be decided by a simple majority nof those
voting
Vacancies
In the event
an office or position beocmes vacant for any reason during the time between
elections,
the President
shall have authority to appoint someone new for the remainder of the term
of office left vacant.
Book of Beta Sigma Phi
In the event
a subject comes under question that is not covered in OLE's bylaws or standing
rules,
the Book
of Beta Sigma Phi will be followed to the extent possible with an online
chapter.
Voting
Voting on By Law revisions shall be decided by a simple majority of those who vote.
