2010-11 Chapter Woman of the Year
Tina Murray
It's time to announce our 2011 Woman of the Year. So let's all hop on the Beta
Bus one more time and head on down to Texas to visit, sis to sis, one who made
the last two years so much fun. She has given us wonderful programs and kept us
all straight on membership and rituals. This OLS Angel did not let her 'wounded
wing' keep her far from the keyboard for long. Even when in pain, she fulfilled
her responsibilities as an officer and participated fully in chapter life. This
active sister deserves the title of Woman of the Year. We thank you sincerely,
Tina, for all that you have contributed to our chapter and our sisterhood.
In honor of our 2011 WOY, Tina Murray:
Another year has come and gone, and now with time to reflect
We honor the commitment our sister showed, for her we have the greatest respect
Although we have our separate lives, we share a common theme
Sisters aware of each others hopes, we cherish each others dreams
This sister went beyond mere participation and gave us her best
Her contributions to chapter life were fun and fact, as all can attest.
I realize that through the years, many friends we've made and left behind
But our wonderful BSP sisters, best friends, have been there all the time.
For we'll always be close as sisters, whether near or far apart
A sister is a sister, forever in my heart
Congratulations Tina. Thanks to BJ for helping me compose this. She is a much
better writer than me.

2009-10 Chapter Woman of the Year
Marge Siedlicke
This years winner and beloved sister to all of us is so deserving, not
only for her dedication to BSP and OLS, but for the true care and love she
shows to all of her sisters all of the time. In true Beta Sigma Phi spirit, it
is my great pleasure to announce that this years OLS Woman of the Year is
our dear President Marge Siedlicke. CONGRATULATIONS MARGE!! (I wrote this on
behalf of all of OLS just for you!) THE YELLOW ROSE OF
SISTERHOOD, OUR WOMAN OF THE YEAR
There is a garden planted
Where the yellow roses bloom,
Where all our sisters gather
And there is always room.
Yellow roses bloom in plenty
In that garden `neath the sky,
But its planted deep within our hearts
Of Beta Sigma Phi.
Each year there is one sister,
Our woman of the year;
Shes a very special sister
And one we all hold dear.
So fill your arms with yellow roses
And fill her heart with cheer
Saying, `thank you Marge dear sister,
Our Woman of the Year!
~LD
Let me be the first to thank you for your hard work and dedication this year
and always to your sisters of OLS. I know this has been a very busy year in
your own personal life, but on top of all of that, you managed to take helm
this past year and be our President as well. Thank you Marge! Youve been
a great President and you will always remain a most wonderful and cherished
sister to us all.

2008-9 Chapter Woman of the Year
Linda Driscoll
The theme for OLS has always been Angels Among Us. Linda Driscoll our 2008 -
2009 Woman of the Year has truly been an angel to us all.
She worked tirelessly on straightening out who was eligible to progress in
rituals and then helped us all get our pins on time for rituals. She personally
took on the expense of mailing all the pins to us.
There is a poem by Douglas Pagels that says: May you always have an
angel by your side
Watching out for you in all the things you do
Reminding you to keep believing in brighter days
Finding ways for your wishes and dreams to come true
Giving you hope that is as certain as the sun
Giving you the strength of serenity as your guide
May you always have love and comfort and courage
And may you always have an angel by your side
Someone there to catch you if you fall
Encouraging your dreams
Inspiring your happiness
Holding your hand and helping you through it all
There are a few more lines but I must cut this short. Linda has been the angel
at our sides last year giving all of us her support. Congratulations Linda.

2007-8 Chapter Woman of the Year
Judy Tompkins
Although she is one of our newer members, Judy has embraced our on-line
sisterhood with a passion, commenting and sharing often and showing that she
cares. On-line membership seems to be tailor-made for Judy as her main home is
a fifth-wheel trailer and they spend most of their time in California or
Arizona. She can check in when she has arrived at her desitnation and keep up
with duties. She has taken on the office of Recording Secretary this year and
has kept our minutes current with International and assured that we are meeting
all chapter requirements. Judy has shared her opinions openly and honestly
about ways to improve our chapter and bring us closer together. Although we
have not yet met in person, I am proud to have her as my sister in On-Line
Sigma. Congratulations, Judy. We look forward to years of your contributions.

2005 Chapter Woman of the Year
Eleanor Waite
The WOY was chosen this year, for the first time, based on our point system, as
adopted in a vote by the chapter to amend our Standing Rules 12.B.
The point system is onlined here.
Eleanor did the huge analysis of all email to the chapter for Jan-Dec 2005,
analyzing how many "participation" postings there were in a meeting
each month (we didn't count jokes or other postings like that), and how many
programs each member did. I did the attendance analysis, and officers and
committees, and put it all on a spreadsheet to calculate the points for each
member.
Eleanor is the member with the most points for the year 2005! I did send all
the details to Jacki privately as soon as I had it done, and did not tell
Eleanor, as she was the WOY, so this email is coming as a surprise to her. This
points analysis is an excellent tool.
It's nice to have a clear choice based on an impartial system. Please join me
in congratulating Eleanor Waite, Online Sigma's Woman of the Year. :)

2004 Chapter Woman of the Year
Ginger Keiffer
Ginger was our President for two terms, 2003 and 2004, and presided over our
change from the sorority year of January to December, to May to April, matching
that of traditional land chapters. She was Vice President in 2001, and has
served on the Cyber Council. Ginger has been active in the chapter since
transferring from another online chapter.
Please join us in congratulating our 2004 Woman of the Year.

2003 Chapter
Woman of the Year
Eleanor Waite
|
| |
Eleanor chaired our first ever On Line Sigma reunion and did a great job. This
was an international feat! She co-ordinated schedules, arranged each and every
member's arrival to be greeted, and did it graciously. Whenever help is needed,
Eleanor is there, but this is the first time she has Chaired and she rose to
the challenge. Eleanor exemplifies the good, the true, and the beautiful.
Eleanor is very active on the list all the time. She is a very caring sister--a
perfect example of a BSP sister!
She is very active and is always there with her support. She exemplifies the
true meaning of Beta Sigma Phi and our motto, Life, Learning, Friendship.

2002 Chapter
Woman of the Year
Ruth Greene
|
| |
Ruth Greene has proven to be an outstanding Beta Sigma Phi this year. :)
Not only our chapter hostess, arranging for "goodies" for our
meeting, Ruth has been one of Online Sigma's representatives at Cyber Council.
She was elected Alternate Recorder at Cyber Council, and installed in April,
then stepped in and assumed the office of Recorder (equivalent to Recording
Secretary) when that member was unable to fulfill her duties.
Here in OLS, Ruth also stepped in and helped BJ with the Recording Secretary
duties when she was unable to due to health problems and work commitments.
All of this while Ruth herself was facing health challenges! Ruth is most
deserving of the title of Online Sigma's Woman of the Year in the year 2002!

2001 Chapter
Woman of the Year
Janice Varga
|
| |
Janice, your sisters have spoken! Janice was the overwhelming choice for 2001's
Online Sigma Woman of the year. Here's what some of the members said:
"Being president is a lot of work behind the scenes. Janice handled it in
a professional, but friendly manner."
"Being the President of anything requires a lot of time, effort, talent,
caring, not to mention many other atributes and as On-Line Sigma's Second
President, Janice has shown all of those things and given so much of her time,
effort and especially caring!"
"I worked closely with this lady during the past year. She is very
efficient and caring."
"Her professional responsible handling of the online chapter."
"She is one very special lady and Online Sigma Sister."
Congratulations to Janice Varga, Online Sigma's 2001 Woman of the Year!

2000 Chapter
Woman of the Year
Sheila Currie Alder
|
| |
On Line Sigma's first Woman of the Year is always there and willing to help
with anything you don't understand and always takes the time to respond to our
message with a personal comment. She takes the time to be a good sister. It
was hard to choose just one Woman of the Year, but when the voting was
accomplished it was obvious that this sister has gone above and beyond all that
has been asked of her. She truly is an "Online" Woman of the Year.
On Line Sigma's first "Woman of the Year" for the New Millennium
is none other than of expert Web Master, Sheila Alder".

I need to announce a little secret
that we've been keeping from Irene - here's the funny story, Irene! You have
been unanimously voted in by OnLine Sigma as our Honorary Woman of the Year!!
We know that we couldn't have set up the chapter without Sheila, but we
wouldn't exist at all if it weren't for you! Thank you for giving us the
opportunity to know you and to meet each other, and do it all with a smile and
generously - yes, we know when both you and Sheila are smiling!!
